ポチって明日届く時代にあえて「待つ」価値。私たちが大阪の工場で座椅子を手作りし続ける理由。 - KISEI official shop

The value of "waiting" in an age where you can order something with a click and have it arrive tomorrow. The reason why we continue to handcraft zaisu in our Osaka factory.

Hello, I'm Naoya Kanata from Kanata Seisakusho.

We live in an age where, with a few taps on your smartphone, inexpensive yet beautiful furniture can arrive at your door the next day.

Amidst the "fast" convenience of such a lifestyle, we at Kanata Seisakusho deliberately

manufacture floor chairs using a "build-to-order" production method, meaning we produce them only after receiving an order.

In an era where efficiency reigns supreme, why do we insist on such an inefficient approach to manufacturing?

Today, I'd like to share the essence of manufacturing that KISEI values, and the passion we put into it.

1. We make things only after deciding "what is needed."

KISEI floor chairs do not have any finished products in stock.

Once a customer places an order on our online store, our craftsmen at our factory begin cutting the fabric specifically for "Mr./Ms. [Customer Name]'s floor chair."

If we only considered efficiency, it would be cheaper and faster to mass-produce items beforehand and store them in a warehouse.

However, we don't do this because we believe that the special feeling of something being "made just for you" is the beginning of the affection that fosters appreciation for an item.

This is the luxury of manufacturing, where even the "waiting time"—an experience never truly felt with mass-produced items that arrive the day after you click "buy"—is considered part of the experience.

Instead of the "convenience of next-day delivery," we aim for "an attachment that makes you want to spend 10 years together."

That's why we choose build-to-order production.

2. Osaka craftsmanship: An investment in "invisible parts"

For a person in their twenties living alone, for example, a 30,000 yen floor chair is by no means a cheap purchase.

That's precisely why we build "quality that you will never regret" into the unseen structure.

With typical cheap floor chairs, the inner cushion often flattens with use, causing the metal frame to press uncomfortably against the user's bottom.

KISEI floor chairs are handcrafted with a layered urethane structure designed to withstand prolonged use and maintain comfort.

Truly valuable craftsmanship is something whose true greatness you only realize after using it for several years.

Our dedication to manufacturing resides in places invisible to the user's eye.

3. In a small 6-tatami mat room, the choice is "a floor chair, not a sofa."

"When I start living alone, I want to have a cool sofa."

Many people must have such aspirations.

However, in this modern Reiwa era, placing a large sofa in a 6-tatami mat 1K apartment in the city often results in the space feeling cramped.

Therefore, we propose updating the traditional Japanese "floor-living" style for modern life.

You can create a comfortable place to relax and lean back without needing a large sofa.

Even in a small room, don't compromise on your personal space. We believe that addressing this need is an important role in modern manufacturing.

Conclusion: What we deliver is not just a floor chair, but "the next 10 years."

KISEI's craftsmanship is not just about making an object to sit on.

It's about breaking free from a lifestyle of continuously consuming cheap items for short periods and delivering the "comfort of aging gracefully with a truly cherished, high-quality, one-of-a-kind item."

From our factory in Osaka to your room.

From the day your KISEI floor chair arrives, the landscape of your "floor-living" is sure to change anew.
